Learn the fundamentals of Brazilian futsal with Technical Directors, Marcelo Zuge and Alvaro Almeida, who are currently the ONLY futsal Technical Directors in BC with the most up-to-date futsal training from the CBFS in Sao Paulo, Brazil, having completed their Level 2 futsal training/certification in January 2019.


During this 3.5 hour Brazilian futsal training course, you will learn the fundamentals of futsal including the rules of the game, how to organize your offensive and defense including futsal drills. Futsal is a natural complement to soccer. Everything players learn in futsal practices/games can be used in a soccer match. Futsal encourages players to think creatively, make better decisions and technically develops players faster than any other sport. It can be played at all skills levels. 


Never played or heard of futsal? Then this course is for you. It's the perfect opportunity to train/engage with a sport that Messi, Salah and Ronaldo have all contributed their success in professional soccer to.

Course Overview On May 4, 2019

~ 8:00am to 8:30am - Light breakfast will be served

~ 8:30am to 9:30am - Lessons on futsal in a classroom environment

~ 9:30am to 9:45am - Break with light beverages/snacks

~ 9:45am to 11:45am - Futsal training sessions in the gym

Alvaro de Almeida ~ Technical Director


Currently, the ONLY futsal Technical Director in BC with the most-up-to-date futsal training, having completed his Level 2 futsal certification with the CBFS in Sao, Paulo, Brazil in January 2019. He is a futsal Technical Director with over 20 years of futsal experience in both Canada and Brazil. He is a Physical Education teacher with a degree from the Universidade Paulista with post graduate work in Football Management, Physiology of Exercises, Football and Futsal Methodology of Training. He is also a certified futsal referee. While in Brazil, he was the Assistant Director of the U15, U17 and U20 Residency program at Gremio Barueri Futebol. He also also a U11 futsal coach, U20 fitness and assistant coach with Gremio Barueri. He was also U10 and U14 futsal coach with Osasco FC. During his time at ACF, he was a futsal coach and sports coordinator. He also coached at Club Esperia as a football coach. In addition to running his own futsal club, he is a professional soccer coach with North Vancouver FC, where he coaches the U14 Metro team and coaches many of NVFC's players through their Academy programs and other NVFC development programs. He is also a futsal coach and referee for the Vancouver Futsal Association and has his CSA License C.

Marcelo Zuge ~ Technical Director


Currently, the ONLY futsal Technical Director in BC with the most-up-to-date futsal training, having completed his Level 2 futsal certification with the CBFS in Sao, Paulo, Brazil in January 2019. He is a futsal Technical Director with over 25 years of futsal experience in both Canada and Brazil. He holds a Bachelor of Sports from University of Sao Paulo and worked as an Assistant Professor in the Physical Education Department at the University of Sao Paulo during a futsal course. He is also the contributing author of the futsal book "Futsal: O Berco do futebol Brasileiro" (Futsal: The Cradle of Brazilian Soccer) by Cris Fonseca. He has coached futsal at the highest levels in Brazil at Sao Caetano EC, Sao Paulo FC and the university teams of Sao Paulo University, Getulio Vargas Foundations and Santa Casa Medicine. He has experience with children of all age groups including including adults and worked for 15 years with the women's team. In 2010, he took FIFA's futsal course representing British Columbia in Laval, Quebec. He worked as an assistant coach for Canada's Futsal National team during the 2012 futsal camp that took place in Richmond, BC. And he has done a futsal internship with Fernando Ferriti, who is one of the most known professional futsal coaches in the world. He is an internationally known skilled competitive tactician in the game of futsal. In addition to running his own futsal club, he is a professional soccer coach with North Vancouver FC, where he coaches the U13 Metro team and coaches many of NVFC's players through their Academy programs and other NVFC development programs.
